processing + packaging

Grain Processing Corporation manufactures all of its ingredients under rigorous process controls to assure the highest quality. Our main production facility is located in Muscatine, Iowa, with a second manufacturing site in Washington, Indiana.
The production process for GPC starches is a corn wet milling process. In this process, corn is cleaned, steeped to soften the kernel and the germ is separated. The remaining product is milled, washed and centrifuged to isolate the starch. The starch slurry is then filtered and dried to produce a fine-powdered starch. This basic corn starch can also be developed into specialty starch products with enhanced functional properties.
The MALTRIN® maltodextrins and corn syrup solids production process begins with the basic corn starch slurry from the wet milling operation. The starch in water slurry is hydrolyzed with food grade acids and/or enzymes. The hydrolysis is controlled to achieve the desired end point. The resulting syrup is then refined by filtering and carbon treatment prior to spray drying. The spray-dried powder is packaged or agglomerated and packaged.
MALTRIN® is a registered trademark of Grain Processing Corporation.
